About Ann

laras photoAnn Policelli Cronin is a Connecticut educator. She currently is a consultant in English education for school districts and university schools of education.

Ann has taught middle and high school English and was named Connecticut Outstanding English Teacher of the Year. For 22 years, she has been a district-level administrator who collaboratively designed English programs, conducted staff development to implement those programs, and supervised large staffs of English teachers. She created an interdisciplinary middle school program which earned a National Blue Ribbon Award and a high school English program which was given two national awards for connecting innovative curricula with effective professional development.

Ann has taught graduate courses for prospective English teachers and was coordinator of the Summer Institute for the Connecticut Writing Project, a University of Connecticut graduate course for elementary school through college teachers of all disciplines. She served as Assistant Director of the Connecticut Writing Project and supervised professional development programs in many of Connecticut’s school districts. She received recognition from the Connecticut State Department of education as an Outstanding Teacher Advocate. She has addressed national and local conferences, been the recipient of national grants, and enjoys writing about real learning.
